Jansen Records was started by Erik Jansen in 2009, and today it is run by him and his friends and colleagues, Andreas, Eivind and Maria. With a common background from working in different record stores in Oslo, and collecting all sorts of records, our musical bond is quite strong.

Which we think the roster at Jansen shows. The mix of genres run from psychedelic rock, via indie pop to americana and country. We even hang with the metal crowd once in a while. The selection might seem quite eclectic looking at it from the outside, and that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.

But wait, there’s more. Check out our specialised imprints Pekula Records (proggy, "open", experimental music), Die With Your Boots On Records (fuzzy folk and Nordic americana), Black Pop Records (garage rock and punk rock on 7-inches) and 9AM Records (up and coming pop music).

Quite an eccentric bouquet of prog blossoms, here. MRR’s umbrella covers a rather wide spectrum of musical artists, many daringly adventurous & certainly progressive.
